Event Summary

With the rise in politicized government investigations, many community organizations have been left wondering how to handle increased government scrutiny. The current political climate has resulted in unprecedented attacks on groups who are working to support communities of color throughout the country. While the types of attacks are somewhat unpredictable, there are best practices that can help mitigate the risks associated with government inquiries and investigations.

We invite you to join us on September 10th from 1pm-2:30pm PT for a Legal Education Advocacy and Defense for Racial Justice® (LEAD®) Initiative virtual training on the current political climate and how to best prepare for politicized government investigations.

We’ll be joined by representatives from the Center for Third World Organizing who will share their experience with politicized government scrutiny as well as two experts from Protect Democracy! who are working to support community organizations as they navigate new threats to democracy and their ability to achieve their missions.

  • Ellinor Heywood, Impact & Litigation Specialist, Protect Democracy!
  • Shanna Singh Hughey, Policy Strategist, Protect Democracy!

*Registration closes at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 9th*
